"Jim" Bowers is a native of West Virginia but has lived in Meigs County since 1988 when he and his late wife, Barbara, moved their family to Decatur to purchase and operate Bowers Funeral Home. Jim is a U.S. Navy veteran and is retired from Norfolk Southern Raiload. He is happily married to Jane Lillard Bowers.
Jane Bowers is married to Jim Bowers and has worked by his side serving the people of Meigs and surrounding counties since 2006 . She worked as an educator in McMinn and Meigs Counties and retired in 2000 after 31 years of service.
Managing Partner, Funeral Director\Embalmer
James joined the Staff of Bowers Funeral Home as a managing partner. He is a native of Cleveland, TN and has lived in McMinn County for over 25 years. He has worked in area funeral homes for several years and graduated from the Mortuary Science Program at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL with an Associate's Degree. He has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Tennessee since 2006. James is also an ordained Minister and has pastored churches in the area for over 20 years. He and his wife Amber have two children and reside in the Claxton Community in McMinn County.
Sharon is a native of Meigs County and a graduate of Meigs County High School and earned an Associate's Degree in business Management from Cleveland State Community College. She and her husband Ronney live in the Shiloh Community. Sharron has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Wayne is a native of Meigs County and lives in the Cotton Port Community and has been active in area funeral home for several years.. Before joining the Bowers Funeral Home team he retired as a truck driver. Wayne serves as Deacon at Bethsaida Baptist Church. He is the proud husband of Faye Allen Brown. They have one daughter, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Max was a native of Meigs County and a Veteran on the US Army. Before joining the Bowers Funeral Home Team Max worked as a blacksmith and pastored churches in Meigs and surrounding counties for many years. Max and his Wife Lovella are members of Decatur First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and is active in the AWANA program and served as the Visitation Pastor.
Max was a valued employee at Bowers Funeral Home but more than that Max was a friend and an inspiration to so many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Gary is a native of Meigs County and is employed at Shaw Industries. Gary also serves as Pastor of the Union Grove Baptist Church. Gary is happily married to Darlene and they have two children.
