Margaret Louise Fugate White, age 91, a resident of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2019 at her home with her family at her side.
She was a daughter of the late Carl and Ida Reed Fugate and was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church for over 65 years where she was active in the Woman’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Athenian Chapter #159 of the Order of the Eastern Star for 59 years. Mrs. White worked for many years as a substitute teacher in the Meigs county School System and was an Avon sales representative. She was an avid Bible reader and loved to Pray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years Herman White, brothers: Roger, Kenneth, Ted, Edward, and Stanley Fugate, an infant sister Laura Fugate, sister Margie Parrott and two great-grandchildren Allie and Chase Scott.
She is survived by her son, Jerry White and his wife Aletha, daughter Christine Plank and her husband Willard, all of Decatur, her grandchildren and spouses: Sonya and Rodney Scott, Brian and Nichole White, Chris Plank all of Decatur, and Craig Plank of Gallatin, great-grandchildren: Savannah, Sara, Shelby, Ty, and Bailey, sisters and brothers-in-law: Carlos Hale of Hixson, and Wanda and John Boyd of Dunlap. Several nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends also survive.
Her funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 24, 2019 with the Reverend Mike Rymer, and the Reverend Gary Rolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephews serving as Pallbearers and the Reverend Kenneth Gardner officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1PM to 3PM on Sunday at the church prior to the service.
