In January of 1988, Jim and Barbara Bowers, along with their son, Allen opened Bowers Funeral Home with a compassionate desire to assist families in Meigs County and surrounding area in helping them through the most difficult time in their lives…. The loss of a loved one. Jim and Barbara had a passion for helping people through these difficult times. They built not only an outstanding staff, but a confidence in the people they served that Bowers Funeral Home was not only there to be the community funeral home, but to be a community friend as well.
Over three decades have passed, and in that time, we have served many families. Some of those families we have served several times. Death is something that we all experience. Jim lost his high school love during that time, Barbara. While she is greatly missed, the passion that she shared with her husband and son to care for grieving families continues to this day at Bowers Funeral Home.
Jim has since remarried and he and his second wife, Jane, along with Jim’s son, Allen, and a new, yet established staff and management team provide that same passion and desire to continue the tradition that the Bowers family has worked so very hard to establish and maintain.
